London, June 25(ANI): Twenty20 captain Stuart Broad has said England has moved on since opener Kevin Pietersen announced his retirement from limited over formats.
He also hailed Alex Hales' superb innings of 99 against the West Indies in second and final Twenty20 match between the two sides.
Hales followed Ian Bell's example by winning a game of cricket in the style.
KP has retired, so Belly comes into the one-day team and gets a hundred, and then, Alex comes into the T20 side, and hits 99. It was a fantastic knock on his home ground. He knows the conditions and he targeted the bowlers when he wanted to, The Daily Mirror quoted Broad, as saying.
He played smart cricket and he didn't give too many chances. It was faultless apart from trying to nick one and getting bowled. He was heartbroken, the changing room was gutted, and I think, 20,000 people were too, he added. (ANI)
