London, June 29(ANI): Dutch legend Ruud Gullit is leading the race to become Holland's new manager after Van Marwijk resigned from the post following a disastrous Euro Cup campaign.

Marwijk, who had a four-year contract, faced a storm of protest after Netherlands failed to win even a single match in the group stages, and couldn't event manage a draw, losing to Denmark, Germany and Portugal, The Sun reports.

Gullit, who became a European champion in 1998 with Netherlands, is being put forward as the man who can resurrect the fortunes of the 2010 World Cup finalists in time for Brazil 2014.

The former Chelsea and Newcastle boss, works as a TV pundit but would welcome a return to football management. (ANI)
