Johannesburg, June 29 (ANI): Another global tournament in South Africa has highlighted the international cricket community's faith in the country and its ability to host major tournaments, according to Cricket SA (CSA) acting CEO Jacques Faul.
South Africa was named as host on Tuesday for the Champions League T20 tournament which will be held in October.
This is very exciting news for South African cricket, Sport24 quoted Faul, as saying.
It once again underlines the faith the international cricket community has in CSA to organise major international events and also adds tremendous value to the package our various sponsors and affiliates are able to offer the fans in their regions.
The financial benefits for the game in this country are also substantial and we look forward to welcoming some of the best players from around the world to our country once again.
South Africa has previously hosted the Cricket World Cup in 2003, the ICC World T20 in 2007, the ICC Champions Trophy and the Indian Premier League in 2009 and the Champions League in 2010. (ANI)
