Washington, July 12 (ANI): Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has been booed at the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) conference for promising to 'kill' Barack Obama's signature healthcare law.
I will kill every expensive and unnecessary programme I can find, and that includes Obamacare, Romney said at the annual convention in Houston, Texas.
According to the BBC, Romney was also jeered when he said that he would be a better president for African Americans.
Despite Romney's frosty reception at the NAACP, he also received some applause for promising to improve the economy.
He said: If equal opportunity in America were an accomplished fact, then a chronically bad economy would be equally bad for everyone. Instead, it's worse for African Americans in almost every way.
Meanwhile, Republican lawmakers have planned another vote to repeal the healthcare law. (ANI)
