NATO containers under security risk from 'sentimental' locals, claims Pak intelligence
Islamabad, Aug. 8 (ANI): Pakistani security agencies have declared the NATO containers parked near Chakri are a security risk.
According to the Daily Times, the containers, which were parked near Chakri due to the blockade of NATO supplies to Afghanistan after the U.S. raid on the Salala checkpost, have provoked the sentiments of locals as well as religious elements.
The containers needed to be immediately removed from the site, an intelligence report said.
The sources further said that the defence ministry, which deals with transportation of NATO supplies to Afghanistan through Pakistan, has been informed about the risk.
There have been a number of attacks on NATO trucks in the past. Last year, some unidentified people set ablaze NATO containers near Tarnol. It is pertinent to mention that Taliban have repeatedly threatened to attack NATO supply convoys. (ANI)
