Islamabad, Aug.8 (ANI): Pakistan's Goodwill Ambassador for Eradication of Polio, Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, has said the Taliban would not be allowed to disrupt the country's anti-polio campaign.

Addressing a meeting of the National Polio Task Force, Aseefa said: We will not allow this to happen. We will have a polio-free Pakistan.

Aseefa said the campaign against the eradication of polio was not limited to any political party, but was a common cause of civil society and all political parties in the country.

Aseefa said she would personally visit reluctant families and try to convince them to undergo vaccination, reports the Daily Times.

Aseefa informed Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf that she was in constant touch with all stakeholders, including the tribal leadership in FATA and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

She also apprised Ashraf about the cooperation extended by religious scholars and clerics for creating a favourable environment for the polio campaign.

Aseefa also thanked Ashraf for the cooperation and assistance being extended by the government in administering polio drops to children. (ANI)
