London, Aug 8 (ANI): The weather in London is likely to improve by Thursday for the weekend, with just a 20 per cent chance of rain expected for the final day of the Olympics.
Temperatures are expected to reach 28C during the closing ceremony.

The country has seen mixed conditions for the Olympic Games after temperatures peaked at 31C before the opening ceremony 11 days ago.

The heavy showers prediction is expected to return next week, resulting in no warmer weather for a long time, The Telegraph reports.

Met Office spokesman Damian Boyd said: The unsettled conditions are expected to improve towards the weekend with temperatures rising up. It's changeable at the moment with showers but moving away from the west to the east. We're expecting some high pressure to move into the south of the country and brighter weather to prevail.

It will just be a short interlude of better weather and then back to the typical British summer.

After the weekend, the rain returning to the UK is likely to be heavy, bringing humid conditions early next week.

But the Olympics closing ceremony, which will handover to the next host city Rio de Janeiro, could avoid a downpour. (ANI)
