Washington, Aug 18 (ANI): Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine has been slammed over his recent rant, where he accused President Barack Obama of staging the recent spate of mass shootings across the U. S. to pass a gun ban.

The 50-year-old singer/guitarist was reportedly criticized by his peers for his 'anti-Obama conspiracy theory'.

I'd like to see Mustaine face any of the victims from either tragedy and tell them that Obama did this to them. I'm one of thousands who wish Mustaine would just keep his volatile mouth shut, the New York Daily News quoted Broken Hope guitarist Jeremy Wagner, as saying.

These accusations are lunacy and just don't sound like the evolved rocker I know. Maybe he broke a string, added 'Life on Planet Rock' author, Lonn M. Friend, who has known Mustaine for over 25 years.

Some of his 'heavy-metal' colleagues even suggested that he maybe back on drugs.

I think he must be back on drugs to even think what he is saying makes any sense, Chuck Billy, of Testament and now Dublin Death Patrol, said.

Mustaine's remarks went viral in a video by heavy-metal news site Blabbermouth.net, the report said. (ANI)
